Though students receive scores on each of the ACT's four sections (English, reading, math, and science), the composite score is usually weighed the most heavily in university admissions. The most selective universities report average ACT scores above 30 for their accepted students, including Harvard (mean composite ACT score of 33.5), Princeton (33), Stanford (32.5), and Dartmouth (32). Average ACT performance at the top public universities is typically a bit lower, such as UC Berkeley (31.5), the University of Virginia (31), and the University of Michigan (31). The next tier of ACT standards is represented by schools such as Boston University (29), George Washington University (29), and St. Joseph's University (25.5). Mean institutional scores are a good starting point for the ACT learning process, but students who are able to outperform the average matriculant at any given university will have the most favorable chances of acceptance. Manhattan Review's ACT prep courses and private tutoring in Melbourne include detailed coverage of each ACT section, experienced guidance for out-of-class study plans, and effective test-taking strategies. Our students learn how to use their natural abilities to raise their ACT scores to the highest possible level. Manhattan Review students have been accepted to all of the universities mentioned above and many more.
Degrees from prestigious universities usually lead to lucrative employment. Although there are substantial earnings discrepancies between fields, graduates of highly ranked institutions generally fare better than those with degrees from less respected schools, regardless of academic major. Many of Manhattan Review's former test prep students have accepted well-compensated positions at a number of Fortune 500 companies and businesses in Melbourne, including New York Life Insurance, Dow Chemical, Archer Daniels Midland, JP Morgan Chase, MMG Limited, National Australia Bank, Primus Telecommunications, and Frontier Touring Company. Meet a Melbourne ACT Tutor: Isaac Z.
Isaac Z., a native of the Melbourne area, has been teaching ACT, SAT, and GRE prep in the United States and Australia for the past nine years. His undergraduate studies in history were completed at the City University of New York, where his tutoring career began. He also holds a master's degree in history from Georgetown University. He was a high performer on all three of the tests he now teaches, and his elite scores greatly eased his acceptance into undergraduate and graduate study.
Isaac is a veteran educator who has taught history classes in several private secondary schools in the New York City and Washington, D.C. areas. His experience teaching high school students is clear to all of his test prep clients, who universally praise his approach to teaching both in terms of style and substance. In his spare time, Isaac enjoys socializing with his family and friends, reading about world events in newspapers and magazines, and playing bass in a local rock band.
